Welcome To My Raw and Lightly Cooked K-9 Food Therapy Page

I would like to introduce myself my name is Melissa Frohnhoefer. I am a Certified TCVM K-9 Food Therapist. My goal as a TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) Food Therapist is to use food as medicine to help pets achieve balance and overall health. I will provide customized diets based on a pet’s body constitution and imbalances (like too much heat, cold, dampness, or dryness) to support healing and prevent disease. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, I will choose specific ingredients that nourish the pet’s organs, energy (Qi), and immune system, promoting long-term wellness in a natural way.

For those who don't know what TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) is here is information on what it is all about.

TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) is a natural approach using an ancient healing system to support pets' health naturally. (TCVM) has been used for over 2,000 years. It includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, and Tui-na (a type of therapeutic massage). TCVM focuses on balancing the body's energy (Qi) to promote healing, prevent illness, and improve overall well-being. It can be especially helpful for pain relief, digestive issues, anxiety, and chronic conditions in pets.

For those who don't know what Qi is here is a brief description: In TCVM, Qi (pronounced "chee") is the vital life energy that flows through the body, supporting health and balance. When Qi moves smoothly, pets stay healthy, but if it becomes blocked or weak, illness and pain can occur. TCVM treatments include acupuncture, herbs, and food therapy helps restore the natural flow of Qi to promote healing and well-being.

History of TCVM (used for animals) and TCM (used for people):

TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) has been practiced for thousands of years, with historical records tracing its roots back at least 2,000 years in China, primarily focusing on the treatment of horses during the Shang Dynasty (1766-1066 BCE).

 TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine):

has been practiced for over 5,000 years for people. The earliest written records of TCM date back to the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC).

The recipes that are given will be a diet specific to what your K-9's needs are using my knowledge on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. I will send  questionnaires and the information that is provided about your pet will help me determine what your pets body requires for foods.
